Mwesigwa Dan

My name is Mwesigwa Dan, a resident of Lumino town council, a land of the Samya people whose language is called after their name. I grew up with people who hold the traditions of the elders and culture as paramount and pass on the same to us. Tradition regarding the dead states that when a person dies, they become wind, and stay on earth to disturb and haunt the living. Thus rituals are performed to hinder the haunting, which must be made in the presence of family members. This was ingrained in me from childhood. Thus when my grandpa died, he was buried according to the traditional norms of our culture. The result of this belief and the death of my grandpa was, I started receiving nightmares. Seeing my grandpa calling me to join him where he is, that I have left him alone. This became something serious, the sight of seeing the dead cold body of my grandpa could come fresh again on my mind. I sought a solution to this problem. Prayers and fasting were offered, but all seemed to be in vain. I attended my Sunday church and decided to be as true to what I knew as I could, but still, there was no solution. I lost hope, thinking that I was going to have this thing for life because it was happening to me almost every day. Peace left me, and sleep I abhorred. My friend Isaac invited me to the Prophecies of hope seminar, telling me that there was hope for me. When I attended and I learnt about the state of the dead and hell, knowing well where they are, I discovered that it was not my grandfather who was haunting me but Satan in the guise of the dead. Peace flooded my soul, and happiness reigned. What long prayers, fasting sessions, and daily church attendance could not do, the 1-hour prophecy of Hope seminar and that day’s personal prayer did. The terror of the nightmare left and it became a once upon the time. Having been freed from this pit, I gave my life to Jesus in a new way, for he taught me through SHALACH ministry that it's not a matter of being sincere, but sincere in the right. It's not about attending any church, but the true church, it’s not a matter of prayer and fasting, but a thus saith the Lord first. I could delay no longer, but get baptized, start a fresh walk with Jesus to teach me more and give me the opportunity to teach others to hold the bible rather than tradition. Can’t forget to thank the speaker, Mr Kaganda Joshua mwesigwa, for accepting the call to come to Lumino and explaining well the state of the dead. Maybe I would sink in despair and die in grief. Praise God for SHALACH.
